Role : Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise IT & Resiliency, and working closely with various project teams, the ideal candidate is a team player with strong SQL/Oracle Database expertise, experience in complex data environments, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in multi-platform enterprise implementations while demonstrating growth potential and technical leadership capabilities.
 

Your Day with Equisoft

• Architecting and managing global database infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS/Aurora, Oracle Cloud Database) and on-premises systems

• Designing and implementing complex database solutions for high-availability and disaster recovery scenarios

• Leading performance tuning initiatives for critical production databases, including query optimization and index strategy

• Developing advanced automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, T-SQL, and PL/SQL for database administration tasks

• Collaborating with global development and infrastructure teams to optimize database design and performance

• Managing database security, including access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements

• Designing and implementing backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies for mission-critical databases

• Conducting capacity planning, growth analysis, and resource optimization for database infrastructure

• Mentoring intermediate and junior DBAs on technical best practices and database administration techniques

• Providing strategic guidance on database cloud migration initiatives and platform modernization

• Participating in global on-call rotation for critical database incidents and emergencies

• Developing and maintaining comprehensive database documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures

• Leading database security hardening initiatives and regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001)

• Evaluating emerging database technologies and recommending strategic data platform investments

• Implementing and maintaining database monitoring, alerting, and performance management solutions

• Willingness to participate in global on-call rotation for critical database incidents

Requirements
Technical

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in database administration roles with demonstrated expertise in enterprise environments

• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration including:

• Advanced Oracle Database administration skills (11g/12c/19c/21c) including:

• Proven experience with cloud database platforms:

• Advanced scripting and automation capabilities (PowerShell, Python, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Bash)

• Strong understanding of database replication, synchronization, and ETL processes

• Experience with database monitoring and performance management tools (SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Spotlight, SolarWinds)

• Expertise in database security best practices, encryption technologies, and compliance frameworks

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code for database provisioning (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation)

• Deep understanding of database architecture, normalization, indexing strategies, and data modeling

• Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines for database deployments

• Strong understanding of storage systems, SAN/NAS technologies, and I/O optimization

• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to conduct advanced root cause analysis for database issues

• Outstanding communication skills for collaborating with developers, architects, and business stakeholders

• Experience mentoring and developing technical team members

• Ability to manage multiple complex database projects simultaneously across time zones

• Knowledge in English (spoken & written)

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Cosmos DB)

• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Oracle Exadata)

• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL administration

• Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)

• Experience with database version control systems (Redgate, Liquibase, Flyway)

• Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes for database deployments

• Experience working in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare)

• Previous experience in geographically distributed or global organizations

• Experience with data masking and test data management tools

• Knowledge of advanced analytics and machine learning integration with databases

• Strong project management skills
