About the Role

We are a stealth-mode managed services company delivering secure, scalable, and highly available database and infrastructure services to SMB and enterprise customers. We are seeking an experienced Database Architect to design, operate, and optimize mission-critical Oracle and PostgreSQL environments across multiple customer engagements.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong ownership of production systems, and experience working in 24×7 managed services environments.

Key Responsibilities

Database Architecture and Administration

• Design, implement, and manage scalable Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments
• Install, configure, upgrade, and secure database platforms
• Drive performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning initiatives

High Availability and Disaster Recovery

• Design and manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and PostgreSQL HA/DR architectures
• Execute regular failover, switchover, and disaster recovery drills
• Ensure robust backup, restore, and recovery mechanisms

Incident, Problem, and Change Management

• Lead resolution of critical database incidents within defined SLAs
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions
• Plan, test, and execute database changes with proper documentation

Security and Compliance

• Implement database security controls, access management, and compliance policies
• Proactively monitor and remediate vulnerabilities and security risks

Collaboration and Technical Leadership

• Work closely with application, DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure teams
• Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to database teams
• Maintain architecture documents, SOPs, and operational runbooks

Managed Services and Cross-Platform Exposure

• Support 24×7 managed customer environments
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly database health and performance reports
• Willingness to work on MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and adopt new database technologies

Required Experience and Skills

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration
• Strong working experience with PostgreSQL
• Expertise in Oracle architecture, SQL/PLSQL, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and performance tuning
• Experience with PostgreSQL administration, replication, and high availability
• Strong understanding of ITIL-based service operations
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale, production-critical environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Certifications preferred: Oracle OCP, ITIL
• Cloud exposure (AWS or Azure) is an advantage
