Summary
We are looking for a hands‑on DBA Lead who can assume a pivotal role of leading a small team of DBAs responsible for the commissioning and operation of a varied database landscape. The successful candidate will have proven experience in working with Agile technologies, strong knowledge of scripting methodologies and techniques, and will identify pain points, repetitive tasks and inefficient coding to replace them with DevOps automation using best practices – an absolute must. Sybase (Sybase ASE, IQ & Rep) and MS SQL expertise are essential. Exposure to Oracle is a strong plus, as is knowledge of open‑source technologies. The role includes weekend out‑of‑hours cover as part of the DBA team roster.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and guidance, recommending improvements to the current infrastructure platforms where appropriate
- Ensure regular and clear updates on systems performance, management and maintenance
