Senior Database Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer / DBA with 8+ years of experience to design, support, and optimize modern cloud-native and NoSQL database platforms. The role focuses on Azure Cosmos DB (multi-model), MongoDB, and AWS database services , supporting high-availability, scalable, and secure enterprise workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production support for Azure Cosmos DB (Core SQL, Mongo API, Cassandra API, Table API), MongoDB, and AWS databases
• Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable cloud database architectures
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization
• Manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, and geo-replication strategies
• Troubleshoot complex database and application performance issues
• Implement and enforce security, encryption, access control, and compliance standards
• Work closely with application, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure teams
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes
• Automate database operations using scripting, IaC, or cloud-native tools
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of overall database experience in enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Cosmos DB (multi-model)
• Strong experience with MongoDB (replica sets, sharding, performance tuning)
• Experience with AWS database services , such as:
• Amazon RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
• Amazon Aurora
• DynamoDB
• Amazon Redshift (nice to have)
• Deep knowledge of HA/DR, scaling, monitoring, and performance optimization
• Experience with cloud security best practices
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
