Title: Senior Database Engineer (SQL Server + Postgre SQL)
Start Date: Immediately

Location : Remote across India (Preferred Bangalore)
Work Timing: 10am to 7pm IST
Role Summary
We are hiring a Senior Database Engineer (SQL Server + Postgre SQL) with strong engineering, migration, and operational expertise across Microsoft SQL Server and Postgre SQL. The ideal candidate has production experience supporting mission-critical workloads, deep performance tuning capability, and hands-on experience deploying these databases in AWS Paa S environments.
This role supports both modernization programs (SQL Server → Postgre SQL) and ongoing engineering/operations for cloud-based database platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Engineer, administer, and optimize SQL Server (2012–2019) and Postgre SQL (12–16) environments.
Implement HA/DR solutions (SQL Always On, Log Shipping, Aurora/Postgres HA).
Design and deploy AWS Paa S solutions: RDS SQL Server, RDS Postgre SQL, Aurora Postgre SQL.
Write and tune T-SQL, PL/pg SQL, indexes, partitioning, and complex queries.
Perform SQL Server → SQL Server migrations and SQL Server → Postgre SQL migrations using AWS DMS/SCT and native database tools
Implement monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Build automation using Bash, Power Shell, Ia C frameworks.
Conduct health checks, auditing, optimization, and modernization of existing DB estates.
Partner with application teams, cloud teams, and Dev Ops to ensure reliability and scalability.
Create runbooks, SOPs, migration guides, and operational documentation.
Work on large SQL Server to Postgre SQL migrations
Convert SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and triggers into Postgre SQL (PL/pg SQL)
Required Skills
5+ years engineering experience with SQL Server and Postgre SQL in production.
Strong SQL, T-SQL, PL/pg SQL, performance tuning expertise across both databases.
Hands-on experience with AWS RDS SQL Server, RDS Postgre SQL, and Aurora Postgre SQL.
Migration experience SQL Server → Postgre SQL using DMS/SCT or Ispirer SQLWays.
Linux/UNIX experience and strong Bash scripting.
Knowledge of SQL Server internals (wait stats, index strategies, locking).
Knowledge of Postgre SQL internals (query planner, vacuum/autovacuum, WAL, replication).
Backup/restore engineering (native backups, RDS snapshots, pg Back Rest).
Strong understanding of networking, IAM, VPC, and cloud security configuration
