Job Title: Senior Design Verification Engineer – Ethernet Protocols

Job Summary
Silicon Patterns is seeking an experienced Senior Design Verification Engineer with deep expertise in Ethernet protocols to join our high-performance semiconductor design team. The ideal candidate will lead verification activities for complex IPs/So Cs, ensuring functional correctness, performance, and protocol compliance across advanced networking designs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end design verification for Ethernet-based IPs and So Cs (e.g., MAC, PCS, PHY, Switch, or Controller designs).
Develop and execute System Verilog/UVM-based verification environments from scratch.
Create verification plans, testbenches, sequences, scoreboards, checkers, and coverage models.
Verify Ethernet protocols such as 10/100/1 G/10 G/25 G/40 G/100 G Ethernet , including features like:
MAC/PHY interfaces
Auto-negotiation
Flow control
VLAN, Qo S, PTP, TSN (if applicable)
Perform protocol compliance verification and debug complex functional issues.
Analyze coverage (functional & code) and drive closure.
Collaborate closely with design, architecture, and system teams to resolve issues.
Review specifications and contribute to architecture and verification methodology improvements.
Mentor junior verification engineers and provide technical leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications
8+ years of experience in ASIC/So C Design Verification.
Strong hands-on experience with Ethernet protocols and networking standards.
Expertise in System Verilog and UVM.
Solid understanding of:
Digital design concepts
Clocking, resets, CDC
Assertions (SVA)
Experience with simulation, debugging, and coverage tools.
Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, or equivalent).
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-speed Ethernet (25 G/50 G/100 G and above).
Knowledge of PCIe, AXI, or other high-speed interfaces.
Experience in FPGA prototyping or emulation.
Exposure to low-power verification and performance verification.
Scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Shell.
