Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Designer Electrical - Life Sciences - Revit Designers with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical sector for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

The Role

  • Work under the guidance of a Lead / Senior Engineer or Lead Designer.
  • Develop 2D drawings and 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, supporting BIM workflows.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, instrumentation, BMS, IT, security, HVAC, civil, and piping engineers.
  • Ensure drawings meet company quality standards and are properly reviewed and archived.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and internal design guidelines.
  • Revise and update designs based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure design accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay current with emerging design technologies and best practices.
  • Execute complex BIM tasks using platforms such as Revit, AVEVA Point Cloud Manager, and E3D.
  • Perform clash detection and resolution within Revit.
  • Draft mechanical and electrical building systems.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork and independent working capabilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet project deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Revit drafting/design within a consulting or architectural-engineering environment.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical projects such as API, Fill-Finish, or Biotech facilities is highly desirable.
