Senior DevOps/ DevSecOps Engineer

To acquire the advantage, we are seeking a Senior DevOps / DevSecOps Engineer to support our engineering team on a part-time basis. This role will focus on automating and managing scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines for modern frontend and backend applications. You will play a key role in establishing best practices, improving reliability and security, and mentoring junior engineers on DevOps fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure using Terraform for development, test, and production environments.
Automate deployments for:
Frontend applications (, React)
Backend services (, Python / FastAPI)
Build and maintain scalable, secure AWS-based environments, leveraging services such as:
VPC, Subnets, Security Groups
ECS (Fargate or EC2-backed)
ALB / NLB
IAM, CloudWatch, S3, ECR
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including:
Build, test, and deployment workflows
Environment-specific configurations
Secure handling of secrets and credentials
Apply DevSecOps best practices, including:
Infrastructure security
Least-privilege IAM policies
Secure CI/CD pipelines
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure for reliability and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers to streamline development-to-production workflows.
Train and mentor junior engineers on:
DevOps fundamentals
CI/CD concepts
Infrastructure-as-Code best practices
Contribute to documentation and internal runbooks.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in DevOps / DevSecOps roles.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including VPC, ECS, IAM, and networking concepts.
Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
Experience deploying and operating:
React or similar frontend applications
Python-based backend services (FastAPI preferred)
Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
Solid understanding of containerization and Docker.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a part-time capacity.
Strong communication skills and experience mentoring junior team members.

Nice to Have:
Experience with AWS Fargate and/or multi-account AWS setups.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
Experience supporting agile development teams.
Exposure to compliance or security-focused environments.
Experience working with AI/ML-enabled applications or platforms.
