Job Description:

This role is part of the IT Platform Engineering team which provides developer services for the rest of 3M. This role focuses on building automation to manage our source code management system (GitHub), deploying cloud resources (mostly AWS, some Azure), and supporting our 3M Developers. Tools we support and maintain include GitHub, GitHub Copilot, AWS Q Dev, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Wiz, and Auth0.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, maintain, and support automation scripts that integrate with GitHub, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Teams, AWS accounts, and Azure subscriptions.
  • Troubleshoot, patch, and maintain existing automation scripts, infrastructure, and deployed cloud resources.
  • Deploy lambdas, state machines, SES queues, S3 buckets, and other AWS cloud resources.
  • Build reusable IaaC templates for AWS/Azure resources. 
  • Help 3M developers troubleshoot complex deployment/build errors.
  • Architect automated solutions to securely manage source code without putting up unnecessary roadblocks for developers.
  • Lead and collaborate with other developers on the team to meet deadlines.
  • Guide the developer experience through intuitive design, thorough documentation, and conciseness. 

    • Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of direct experience with DevOps.
  • Minimum 9 years of hands-on experience in IT.
  • Experience developing with Python and Yaml/Typescript.
  • Experience deploying AWS cloud resources.

  • Experience deploying Azure cloud resources.
  • Experience with AWS state machines, lambda, and cloud formation.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Wiz, Auth0, AWS CDK.
  • Familiarity with Azure Active directory integrations.
