Overview

A leading cloud software provider is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure Automation team. This role focuses on automation engineering, infrastructure-as-code, and test automation for scripting languages (Ansible, Python, TypeScript, Jenkins). The successful candidate will drive high-quality infrastructure delivery within an Agile environment while supporting internal engineering teams and cloud-hosted clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated testing frameworks for infrastructure automation scripts.

  • Develop and execute test strategies aligned with Agile SDLC practices.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust coverage.

  • Contribute to automation solution design, planning, and engineering.

  • Build reusable automation tooling and enhance existing systems.

  • Monitor, analyse, and optimise cloud infrastructure performance and reliability.

  • Perform daily system checks, log reviews, and configuration management tasks.

  • Support issue resolution, troubleshoot infrastructure problems, and ensure SLA adherence.

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in code quality and automation.

  • Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years in software or infrastructure engineering with full SDLC exposure.

  • Strong experience in test automation for infrastructure code and scripting languages.

  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).

  • Strong AWS automation experience (., CodePipeline, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, VPC).

  • CI/CD and build automation expertise (Jenkins, Git, Gradle, .

  • Experience with containerisation (Docker) and Java application deployments.

  • Familiarity with test management tools (X-Ray, Zephyr, TestRail).

  • Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong Linux/Unix/Windows systems experience.

  • Configuration management skills (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, load balancing, VPN, WAF).

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.

  • Committed to producing maintainable, reliable, and secure code.

  • Comfortable using AI tools responsibly under organisational security guidelines.

  • AWS certification is an advantage but not required.
