Senior DevOps Engineer (Elasticsearch)

We are seeking a highly capable DevOps Engineer to design, enhance and support our PaaS Logging Services used by application teams across the organisation. This role requires strong hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack , GCP , and modern automation tooling. You will help ensure the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of our logging and observability platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain logging services using Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability
• Monitor health and respond to incidents using observability tools and runbooks
• Manage incident lifecycle via Jira; contribute to RCA for Sev 1/2 issues
• Provide on-call weekend support once every 4 weeks
• Recommend improvements and research new tools
• Translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in the DevOps role
• Proven expertise in the implementation, operation, and maintenance of Elastic clusters
• Advanced experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including infrastructure, Kubernetes/GKE, networking, and logging
• Strong proficiency in Python scripting and functional programming
• Solid understanding and intermediate capability with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Strong fundamentals in Linux administration and shell scripting (Bash)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Elastic Observability, PagerDuty, Uptrends)
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
