Job Summary:

Phillip Riley is partnering with an impressive R&D business looking to expand their capabilities as they continue to develop ground-breaking products. The client is seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their team, playing a key role in a small but growing DevOps function.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations by automating processes, maintaining and optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring seamless continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. You will work with various teams to improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of their systems.

Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Perth, Southern Suburbs

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible.
  • Monitor system performance and respond to incidents with root cause analysis and post-mortem reports.
  • Optimize and ensure the scalability, availability, and security of production systems.
  • Implement system monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure proactive issue resolution.
  • Manage containerized applications with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in DevOps.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Likely to hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role or similar position.
  • Virtualisation technologies (VMWare, XCP, etc.).
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Zabbix, etc.).

Skills:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Shell, Bash, etc.).
  • Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN, etc.).
  • Understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud security.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
