Senior DevOps Engineer - Azure 

• 3 months contract initially, immediate start
• Preston-based - 4 days onsite, 1 day WFH
• $950-$1050 inclusive per day

THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading player in the retail sector, driven by innovation with a modern, dynamic IT team and a strong focus on continuous improvement. The business supports large-scale operations across Australia.

You’ll be working with a highly collaborative team that values technical excellence.

While the initial contract is 3 months, there is the potential for extension as the roadmap evolves. The role is working at their modern offices in Preston with 4 days onsite and 1 day WFH.

THE ROLE
The company is currently undergoing a major technology transformation and they need a seasoned DevOps specialist to hit the ground running and help bridge the gap across their expansive cloud and on-premises landscape.

This isn’t just about keeping the lights on. You will be instrumental in delivering unified platform engineering solutions and optimising their multi-cloud environment.

• Collaborate with project teams to design and implement robust solutions across cloud and on-prem (VMware) infrastructure.
• Enhance and administer tools for technical delivery and platform operations.
• Identify and remediate solution compliance risks within a highly regulated retail environment.
• Act as a mentor to internal team members, advocating for DevOps best practices and high-quality "self-service" platform engineering.

ABOUT YOU

• Cloud Experience:  Senior-level experience specifically within Azure. 
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):  Strong skills with Terraform (HashiCorp Cloud Platform) to drive automated, reusable infrastructure.
• CI/CD Leadership: A deep understanding of technical delivery tools, specifically GitHub and Azure DevOps, to streamline deployment pipelines.

You will be working within a sophisticated ecosystem including:

• Clouds: Azure, GCP, AWS
• Automation: Terraform, HashiCorp Vault
• Platform: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), GitHub, Azure DevOps
• Edge/Network: Cloudflare, Apigee, Core Networking (DNS, Routing)
