Responsibilities

  • manage the day-to-day operations of the daycare, the children, families, staff, finances, repair and maintenance, supply procurement.
  • ensure the environment is healthy and safe for children, families and staff as per Licensing requirements.
  • identify, assess and report repairs and replacement.
  • oversee building and yard maintenance including procuring casual labour.
  • ordering/purchasing supplies eg. janitorial, food and equipment within budget.
  • update policies and precedures to ensure safety and well‑being of children and to ensure the centre is in compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • manage and support a team of staff, relief staff, volunteers and students including training, scheduling, orientation and conflict resolution.
  • aid staff in curriculum planning and implementation.
  • aid Board of Director in staff recruitment.
