Job Description

Just imagine your future with us…

At Aurecon, we see the future through a very different lens. Do you?

Innovation, digital engineering and technical excellence are at the heart of everything we do. Are you excited about shaping the future of healthcare infrastructure? Are you driven by the opportunity to work on complex, high-performance hospitals and health facilities that make a real difference to communities? We are.

Diversity is embedded in everything we do. We work together to create a culture built on respect, trust, and inclusiveness. Our differences fuel our creativity. We embrace flexible working and are always open to discussing your individual needs, so you can create an experience that works for you.

What will you do?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer – Health & Building Services to join our Perth office.

In this role, you will immerse yourself in the delivery of hospital and health facility projects, working across acute care environments, specialist clinical spaces and broader health precinct developments. You will play a pivotal role in designing safe, reliable, compliant and energy-efficient electrical building services—supporting critical clinical operations and ensuring resilience where it matters most.

You will work closely with experienced technical leaders, influence design direction, and contribute to projects across multiple geographies. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, engage directly with clients and stakeholders, lead design reviews and workshops, and support multidisciplinary delivery across our Building Services and Health portfolio.

We are currently delivering landmark programs across Health, Defence, Education, Transport, Aviation, and Commercial sectors—giving you the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant buildings and infrastructure.

Here are the key things you will need to ‘bring ideas to life’:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering electrical building services design on health and hospital projects (experience in live/operational environments highly regarded).
  • Strong technical capability across LV power distribution, essential and non-essential systems, backup power (generators), UPS, critical changeover systems, and resilience planning for clinical operations.
  • Experience with lighting design, emergency and egress lighting, and consideration of clinical requirements (e.g., patient areas, imaging, theatres, labs, and plantrooms).
  • Understanding of hospital electrical infrastructure, including operational risk, staged works, maintainability, and coordination with clinical/HTM requirements and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and guidelines (including building services and healthcare requirements), and an ability to interpret and apply them to real-world project constraints.
  • Ability to engage confidently with health clients, user groups, project managers, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to translate technical detail into clear, client-focused outcomes.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, coordinate design packages, manage interfaces, and deliver high-quality documentation.
  • Proven experience contributing to proposals, bid support, or securing repeat work through excellent client service.
  • Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering (Chartered status or working toward is highly regarded).

We know today’s complex challenges can only be solved by bringing together diverse teams from across our business. You’ll have opportunities to apply your skills to projects across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond, helping shape the next generation of healthcare and community infrastructure.

Think you know Aurecon? You may be surprised.

Aurecon’s strength has always been our people. It’s our people who build our shared purpose and bring ideas to life. It’s our people who imagine and co-create with our clients a better future for people and the planet.

You probably know many of our award-winning projects already. The new Allianz Stadium in Sydney? That was us. Tāmaki Regeneration in Auckland? Also us. And major health and building services programs across the region? Yes—us too.

When you join us, you’re not only joining a global design, engineering and advisory firm—you’re joining a community working together to solve some of the world’s most complex challenges.

Ready to bring ideas to life?

Then please apply. Remember, it’s you—your thinking, your technical expertise and how you bring ideas to life—that matters. Your background, individuality and unique needs will be valued.
