Senior Engineer- Backup

We are seeking an experienced L3 Backup & Recovery Specialist with deep expertise in Commvault also supporting enterprise backup operations in AWS environments. The ideal candidate will also possess working knowledge of NetBackup as a secondary skillset. This role is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, solution design, and operational excellence in backup and recovery services for mission-critical workloads. In addition, has accountability for ensuring data integrity, and providing detailed documentation of operational procedures.

• Lead and manage complex backup and recovery operations using Commvault in AWS cloud environments
• .Provide L3-level support, including root cause analysis, performance optimization, and resolution of escalated incidents
• .Integrate and optimize Commvault solutions with AWS native services (e.g., S3, EC2, RDS, Glacier)
• .Support NetBackup environments as a secondary skillset, including configuration, monitoring, and incident resolution
• .Ability to build and design backup infrastructure
• .Ability to manage multiple tape libraries of backup infrastructure
• .Understands and has excellent knowledge and skills to trouble shoot backup issues, tape issues, and storage issues
• .Needs to be proficient in backup schedules and policies
• .Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and compliance
• .Participate in audits, DR drills, and capacity planning activities
• .Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance as needed
• .Must thoroughly understand Commvault through command line and GUI
• .Must understand Linux and Windows commands and understand how to troubleshoot backup issues on both windows servers, and Linux servers
• .Must follow established company processes, including change management, incident management, and problem management processes
• .Must have experience with automating backup processes, as well as using Commvault Workflows
• .Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• .Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations
