Wood India Consulting is recruiting for a Senior Engineer – Electrical to join the team focusing on offshore and subsea projects within our Technical Consulting Division. 

This position is based in Chennai and because success in the role will require in-person contact with the team, remote work is not an option.

The Role  

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background subsea engineering principles, subsea systems, and relevant industry codes and standards (., API, ISO). 

This role involves working closely with our engineering team to develop FE models, perform detailed analyses and provide insights that drive our product development and optimisation.

Within Technical Consulting, our clients range from both major and independent operators of onshore oil & gas and clean energy facilities such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and windfarms, through to suppliers, fabricators and EPC contractors.

    Expected:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering in electrical engineering 
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry, preferably having a proven track record in subsea projects 
  • Strong knowledge of subsea engineering principles, subsea systems, and relevant industry codes and standards (., API, ISO) 
  • Proficiency in using subsea engineering software tools, such as subsea design and analysis software 
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within deadlines and budget constraints 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and contractors 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative and practical solutions to complex subsea engineering challenges 
  • Sound understanding of HSE regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment
