Role Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of HVAC and Cleanroom systems across the facility. The role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC O&M, hands-on troubleshooting ability, and experience managing large chiller plants, precision HVAC equipment, and cleanroom environments. The engineer will also support modification/ramp-up programs, equipment installation, vendor coordination, and reliability improvement activities

Key Responsibilities

HVAC System Design & Engineering

  • Perform basic design and layout of HVAC systems and cleanroom airflow systems.

  • Review engineering drawings, BOQs, and specifications for HVAC-related works.

  • Support capacity assessment and system upgrade planning.

  • Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

  • Lead operation and routine maintenance of:

  • Chiller plants

  • DC Coils

  • CDA 

  • AHUs, MAUs

  • Split, cassette units,VAV,Exhaust Systemand RCUs

  • Drive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.

  • Ensure HVAC systems meet cleanroom and environmental control standards

  • Troubleshooting &Reliability

  • Diagnose and resolve HVAC system failures, alarms, and performance issues.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) and execute corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Optimize HVAC performance to reduce downtime and improve energy efficiency.

  • Automation & Monitoring Systems

  • Work with BMS/FMCS platforms to monitor, trend, and control HVAC systems.

  • Support automation improvements and data-driven performance optimization.

  • Maintenance Planning & Documentation

  • Use SAP to plan, schedule, and track PPMs, breakdowns, and spares.

  • Maintain accurate records, SOPs, and compliance documentation.

  • Project, Ramp-up & Installation Support

  • Support facility modifications, scale-up programs, and new tool hook-ups.

  • Assist in HVAC tie-ins, equipment installation, and utility readiness.

  • Ensure contractor work aligns with engineering standards and quality.

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage HVAC contractors, vendors, and AMC partners.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with production, facilities, safety, and engineering teams.

  • Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to safety norms, EHS guidelines, and cleanroom protocols.

  • Participate in audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’sDegreeMechanical Engineering. Masters’s degree in HVAC or related field.

  • 7–10 years of experience in HVAC operation, maintenance, and engineering (preferably in semiconductor, pharma, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing).

  • Strong domainknowledge in Chillers, AHUs, BMS/FMCS, DX systems, and SAP maintenance planning.

  • Hands-on troubleshooting capabilities and project execution experience.Willingness to workin rotating shifts and respond to critical equipment issues.
