Who You Are
As an Senior Engineer, you will bring a high level of technical knowledge as well as strong mentoring abilities. You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). You will work closely with a Technology Manager, using your experience and knowledge to guide a team of Engineers though their day-to-day process, and provide a central escalation point for production concerns. You will be part of an Agile production release team and may perform on-call support functions as needed

- Are a main contributor in Agile ceremonies
- Provide mentorship and facilitate engineering training for a team of Engineers
- Perform and delegate engineering assignments to ensure production readiness is maintained
- Conduct research to aid in product troubleshooting and optimization efforts
- Conduct research to guide product development and tools selection
- Provide an escalation point and participate in on-call support rotations
- Actively monitor key metrics and report on trends
- Participate in our Engineering Community of Practice
- Contribute to engineering automation, management or development of production level systems
- Contribute to project engineering design and standards verification
- Perform reliability monitoring and support as needed to ensure products meet guest expectations

- Bachelors degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent
- 14+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong computer science fundamentals.
- 8+ years of experience developing, implementing, and customizing IBM Sterling Order Management.
- Expert in designing and building scalable, secure, cloud-native microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, WebFlux, and TDD .
- Proven experience developing and operating high-volume, low-latency distributed systems with strong performance, resiliency, and observability.
- Advanced proficiency with event-driven and streaming platforms , particularly Confluent Kafka (schemas, partitions, consumer groups, optimizations).
- Strong cloud engineering expertise across AWS services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, networking).
- Deep DevOps and automation experience with CI/CD , GitHub Actions/Jenkins, Containerization (Docker) , Kubernetes , Terraform/Helm , and GitOps workflows.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for troubleshooting complex production issues using distributed tracing, JVM tuning, and log/metric insights.
- Experience delivering software across the full SDLC, including Agile, DevOps, testing automation, observability, and SRE practices.
- High-ownership, self-starter mindset with the ability to independently drive architecture, design, and delivery for critical systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence technical decisions and mentor engineering teams.
- Familiar with modern engineering tools: GitHub, IntelliJ/Eclipse, Jira, Confluence , and project management platforms.
Integrated AI/ML Experience:
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts such as predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and data-driven decisioning
- Hands-on exposure integrating AI-powered services/APIs (e.g., AWS AI services, OpenAI APIs) into backend services
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer) for code generation, testing, and productivity improvements
- Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, or LLM-based retrieval patterns (RAG)
- Ability to evaluate AI-driven enhancements for OMS workflows (fraud detection, exception prediction, inventory intelligence)
- Understanding of ethical AI usage, data privacy, and secure integration practices for AI components
