Senior Engineer Software - Recognition and Rewards

Paylocity is a leading provider of cloud‑based HR and payroll software solutions, powering over 35,000 businesses in the United States. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Guadalajara to join our Recognition & Rewards team.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will craft scalable, modern systems and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams. You will lead feature design discussions, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high reliability for a cloud‑native platform.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on our green‑field Recognition & Rewards project; build and deliver a top‑notch experience using AWS services such as EventBridge, Lambda, SNS/SQS, and MongoDB Atlas.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and deliver meaningful iterations using Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and rapid releases.
• Mentor and coach less experienced team members, contributing to a positive inclusive team culture.
• Build and productionize highly scalable and redundant systems on AWS, leveraging internal tooling to accelerate development.
• Use data to answer business questions, influence decisions, and enable the team to make data‑driven choices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Full‑stack engineering experience with large‑scale, highly reliable systems.
• Proven track record of delivering high quality product features for cloud‑native, enterprise level applications.
• Quality‑first mindset with strong object‑oriented analysis and design skills.
• Experience with .NET Frameworks, C#, and messaging frameworks.
• Experience building applications using cloud services such as MongoDB Atlas, AWS Lambda, and AWS SNS/SQS.
• Experience with APM tools such as DataDog for monitoring production.
• Strong collaboration with product managers and stakeholders; ability to engineer with leadership and coaching.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods (7‑8 hours per day).
• Use of computer, phone systems, and multiple software programs simultaneously.
