Main Purpose:
Support the maintenance and reliability of Subsea Control Systems (SCS) and associated interfaces across D1 D3 and MA fields, including Subsea, CRP, FPSO, OT, and Shore Base facilities. The role is responsible for preventive, breakdown, shutdown, and emergency maintenance, statutory compliance, spares management, and ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted subsea operations.
Job Accountabilities:
Maintenance & Operations Support
• Execute and support routine, preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance of subsea control and interface equipment, including SCU, HPU, EPU, TUTU, TCTU, and associated systems (DCS, ESD, OPC, etc.) at CRP, FPSO, OT, subsea facilities, and Shore Base.
• Provide day-to-day operations support at OT, FPSO, and CRP by analysing process performance and supporting operations during process disturbances, breakdowns, and well start-ups.
• Support offshore facilities as a replacement/reliever for control engineers during leave or vacation periods.
Troubleshooting & Offshore Support
• Visit offshore facilities (CRP, FPSO, OT) for troubleshooting subsea control system and interface-related issues.
• Coordinate with OEM engineers and third-party service providers for execution of assigned offshore and onshore activities.
Reliability, Safety & Compliance
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment abnormalities and recommend reliability improvement actions.
• Initiate and manage Management of Change (MOC) for reliability and system enhancements.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, risk assessments (RA), and lessons learned related to subsea interfaces.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, maintaining zero unsafe incidents during job execution.
• Ensure 100% participation in One Reliance HSE-MS subcommittee activities and audits.
Procedures, Documentation & Interventions
• Prepare, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs).
• Develop control system intervention procedures, work instructions, and risk assessments in consultation with intervention and integrity engineers.
• Support intervention activities by mobilizing required resources, including offshore visits to intervention vessels during control-related activities.
• Conduct post-intervention testing of subsea control equipment and modules at the SCU contractor base and Aker base, in coordination with intervention teams.
Spares, SAP & Vendor Coordination
• Periodically review Bills of Materials (BOM) and critical spares in SAP to ensure operational readiness.
• Identify critical spares and initiate purchase requisitions, including preparation of technical recommendations for procurement and contracts teams.
• Support Aker base activities, including:
o Site Receipt Testing (SRT) of refurbished SCMs, control equipment, and tooling
o Mobilization of refurbished and PM-related control equipment
o Ensuring readiness and configuration of SCM modules planned for field installation
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
• Strong knowledge of Subsea Control Systems and subsea equipment
• Understanding of subsea operations, reservoir behaviour, and well performance
• Knowledge of international Oil & Gas standards
• Hands-on capability in troubleshooting, commissioning, project execution, and start-up
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and coordination skills
• Ability to work independently in demanding offshore environments
Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering
• Minimum 7 years of Oil & Gas experience
• At least 3 years of experience in subsea / deepwater maintenance activities
