Job Description

Responsible for executing design activities across BorgWarner’s global engineering centers in collaboration with international design teams. Key duties include:
 Developing and adapting design concepts using advanced CAD tools based on customer and engineering input.
 Creating accurate 2D drawings and 3D models, including assemblies, layouts, and stack-ups.
 Utilizing CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, and Unigraphics NX for product design.
 Demonstrating creativity, strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and tolerance management.
 Fostering team collaboration and taking initiative on challenging tasks

Execute engineering design tasks (3D/2D modeling, drawings, documentation) using CAD tools like Creo , SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, AutoCAD, etc.

Ø   Apply ISO Geometrical Product Specifications ( ISO GPS ) per automotive standards; convert legacy 2D drawings to 3D models.

Ø   Collaborate with global engineering teams and customers to support design-related activities and ensure alignment with project goals.

Ø   Create and update Assembly Bills of Materials (BOMs) to maintain accurate product structures.

Ø   Utilize Product Data Management (PDM) tools like Teamcenter for efficient document and data management.

Ø   Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.

Ø   Maintain and improve design standards, work instructions, and drafting practices.

Ø   Ensure compliance with BorgWarner standards, confidentiality, and quality systems.

Ø   Mentor peers; review and check drawings to meet FTR (First Time Right) targets.

Ø   Perform basic analysis using CAD layouts, stack-ups, and FEA tools.

Participate in safety audits.

Ø   Gender: Both Male and Female are preferred

Ø   Bachelor’s degree in mechanical; Production; Automotive; electrical & Electronics; Electronics & communication; Mechatronics engineering.

Ø   Minimum of 4–7 years in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and drawing release

Ø   Expert in Creo (2000+ hours preferred), working knowledge of SolidWorks, UG and Catia

Ø   Strong expertise in ISO GPS , drawing interpretation, and Microsoft Office tools

Ø   Experience in casting design and manufacturing processes; understanding of casting–machining relationships

Ø   Familiar with tooling, pattern making, and casting methods (sand, permanent Mold, investment)

Ø   Knowledge of turbocharger components is a plus.

Ø   Exposure to iron casting technology, tooling, and international standards

Ø   Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.

Ø   Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills required
