Job Summary:
The AV Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining audio-visual (AV) systems and equipment. This includes video conferencing systems, sound systems, projectors, digital signage, control systems, and related infrastructure to ensure seamless collaboration and presentation experiences across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Install, configure, and maintain AV systems (displays, microphones, cameras, speakers, control panels, etc.).
+ Support and troubleshoot AV systems used for meetings, webinars, and live events.
+ Manage video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, Webex, etc.) and room integration.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and ensure AV equipment is in optimal working condition.
+ Collaborate with IT and Facilities teams for network and infrastructure integration.
+ Provide technical support for conferences, town halls, and corporate events.
+ Maintain documentation for AV setups, configurations, and cabling diagrams.
+ Evaluate and recommend upgrades or new AV technologies.
+ Manage vendors and contractors for AV installation and maintenance services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field.
+ 3–7 years of experience in AV system design, installation, and support.
+ Strong understanding of AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, etc.).
+ Hands-on experience with video conferencing systems (Cisco, Poly, Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms).
+ Knowledge of audio DSPs, microphones, amplifiers, and video distribution systems (HDBaseT, HDMI, SDI).
+ Familiarity with IP-based AV systems and network fundamentals.
+ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong communication and customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
+ Certifications such as CTS / CTS-I / CTS-D (AVIXA), Crestron/Extron programmer certification.
+ Experience with digital signage systems and event production.
+ Knowledge of automation and scheduling systems.
