Role Purpose
The Tech Engineering Lead owns end-to-end engineering outcomes across execution,
architecture, quality, security, and delivery. This role blends deep hands-on technical
leadership with team management, production ownership, and close collaboration with
Product, Business, and Customers.
The role is expected to diagnose problems, challenge assumptions, and design pragmatic
solutions—not just execute instructions.
End to end own the engineering execution for critical platform capabilities and product
modules, working closely with the CTO, Product, and Business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Architecture
• Own end-to-end delivery of core product modules and platform capabilities
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems
• Make pragmatic architectural trade-offs balancing speed, quality, and scale
• Remain hands-on through coding, reviews, and production debugging
Quality, Security & Compliance
• Enforce high engineering standards across code quality, testing, performance, and reliability
• Own Information Security and compliance standards including ISO 27001, SOC 2, DPDP, and applicable regulations
• Design, implement, and monitor data security controls (access, encryption, logging,
• Partner on audits and ensure ongoing compliance readiness
Team & Resource Management
• Lead and mentor the engineering team with clear ownership and accountability
• Align resources and skills to delivery priorities
• Identify capacity and capability gaps and work with leadership on hiring or upskilling
Delivery & Production Ownership
• Own project delivery and release execution end-to-end
• Lead daily execution rituals, prioritization, and trade-off decisions
• Participate in client-facing technical discussions and own relationships with client IT teams
• Monitor production systems and infrastructure health, availability, and performance
• Lead incident management, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must Have
• 8–12 years of strong, hands-on engineering experience
• Background in product-led SaaS or platform companies (non-services mindset)
• Proven ability to deliver complex systems with high quality
• Strong problem-solving and structured thinking, should demonstrate Benevolve

• Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments
• Ability to clearly articulate technical trade-offs to stakeholders
Good to Have
• Experience in HR Tech or enterprise B2B platforms
• Exposure to cloud-native and microservices architectures
• Experience working with distributed teams
