Position Description: Senior Finance Analyst – Controllership
LOCATION Bengaluru, India
Summary of Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly driven Senior Finance Analyst – Controllership to manage and strengthen key controllership activities across the finance function. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting , while supporting strong financial governance in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The position offers hands-on ownership of accounting operations, period-end close, reconciliations, audits, and working capital management. The ideal candidate is a Chartered Accountant with 4–5 years of experience , strong technical accounting knowledge, and a process-oriented mindset who can partner effectively with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
Knowledge & Skills Required
Controllership & Financial Close
- Own end-to-end controllership processes, including accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting for assigned business or finance functions.
- Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities through timely posting and review of journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the general ledger and financial statements in line with accounting standards and internal policies.
Accounting Operations & Working Capital
- Manage accounting and reporting for operational transactions including vendor invoices, customer settlements, receivables, payables, and intercompany transactions.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of ageing and open items.
- Monitor and analyze working capital metrics such as collection ageing, payment cycles, advances, and open balances, and collaborate with business teams to drive closures.
Controls, Compliance & Audits
- Ensure strong adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, review audit schedules and documentation, and close audit observations within agreed timelines.
- Identify control gaps, compliance risks, or data issues and recommend corrective actions.
Reporting, Analysis & Stakeholder Support
- Prepare management reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules with clear commentary for leadership reviews.
- Support finance leadership with ad hoc financial analysis, deep dives, and performance insights as required.
Process Improvement & Team Support
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization to improve efficiency, scalability, and transparency.
- Support implementation of system enhancements and automation initiatives within controllership scope.
- Review work performed by Finance Analysts, provide guidance, and ensure high quality and timely deliverables.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 4–5 years of relevant controllership or accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial close processes, and internal controls.
- Excellent Excel skills with the ability to handle large volumes of data.
- Experience with Oracle ERP or similar large ERP systems preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
