The Role
This position blends technical leadership, project management, mentoring, and business development. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients while guiding internal teams toward consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing complex geotechnical engineering projects from planning through construction
Performing advanced engineering analyses, including:
Soil and rock classification
Shallow and deep foundation design and capacity
Settlement analysis (immediate and consolidation)
Slope stability and seismic hazard evaluations (liquefaction, lateral spreading)
Earth retention systems
Preparing geotechnical engineering reports, construction specifications, and drawings
Collaborating with multidisciplinary internal and external teams
Providing construction-phase support and oversight
Actively participating in marketing and business development efforts
Training, mentoring, and developing engineering staff
What We’re Looking For
15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State
Strong project management and client relationship skills
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience with geotechnical software such as L-Pile, SHAFT, gINT, GRL WEAP, Slide, Settle 3D, or similar tools
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Compensation & Work Environment
Salary range: $130,000 – $175,000, depending on experience and qualifications
Full-time, Monday–Friday
Primarily in-person, with a mix of office and field work
