PURPOSE

Designs implements maintains and supports infrastructure services in accordance with business and functional requirements using appropriate SITA standards policies and processes across multiple projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of a global team, you will support the uptime and availability of critical customer-facing services across multiple regions. Additionally, you will work to create more consistent, automated environments, proactively testing and tuning all aspects of the infrastructure, monitoring, and responding to system alerts, while continually optimizing performance, security, and reliability.

The role involves developing and executing initiatives to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automate network designs, tooling, and operations. This will reduce implementation cycle times, eliminate service downtime, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with security and governance requirements. Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation will be required for escalations and troubleshooting.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Implement an enterprise-wide Platform Operations Engineering culture by disseminating your best practices, approaches, enhancements, and documentation.
  • Able to troubleshoot complex, cross-platform issues involving Servers and OS, Virtualization, and Containers in a cloud-based SaaS environment such MS Azure, as well as manage live production incidents, debug/troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and implement Platform Operations Engineering best practices.
  • Manage routine system tasks such as updates, backups, availability checks, and performance monitoring.
  • Work closely with the DevOps Team and various departments to ensure the system is responding properly to non-functional requirements such as performance, security, backups, and High availability of the infrastructure.
  • Identify and automate any system or software tasks to bring efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with various business departments and suppliers to ensure alignment with ISO 27001 processes and compliance with all necessary regulations.
  • Document your system knowledge as you acquire it over time, create runbooks, and ensure critical system information is readily available to those who need it
  • Ensure Infrastructure maintains its high standard of security by regularly carrying out mitigation and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in the analysis and management of the performance of infrastructure

    • EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Minimum 4+ years hands on experience
  • Strong experience in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure
  • 35 years of experience in system administration with a focus on hardware and storage.
  • Demonstrable experience (Python, Linux, Docker/Virtualization )
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible/Puppet/Chef)
  • Extensive experience of supporting / managing hypervisor-based products/infrastructure (VMware, Kubernetes, Proxmox....)
  • Knowledge on at least of major cloud provider (MS Azure, AWS or GCP).
  • Basic programming and scripting skills (preferably Golang, bash, shell, etc.,)
  • Understanding of network routing, load balancer and knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP and DNS
  • Exposure to SRE & Agile methodologies with B. Tech./B.E. degree in Electronics & Telecomm or Computer Science

    • PROFESSION COMPETENCIES

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA, Dell EMC Storage Administrator).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform).
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
  • Hands-on experience managing SAN systems (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM).
  • Proven experience maintaining physical servers (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data center standards and physical server deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware architecture, RAID, iLO/iDRAC, and out-of-band management.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows system administration.
  • Understanding of IP networking as it relates to storage and server connectivity.

    • EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

    - Master's degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or similar.- Where applicable a recognised professional certification is desirable.
