Senior IT Delivery Manager – Exciting Opportunity in Digital Transformation

We’re partnering with a large QLD Government that’s all about jobs, skills, and economic growth. We are looking for a seasoned IT leader ready to drive the delivery of complex systems and digital transformation project.  

About the role
This is a pivotal role in overseeing a complex suite of legacy systems and supporting the modernisation of key business processes. You’ll ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives, while maintaining high standards of quality, governance, and operational excellence.
You’ll manage a large team, drive workflow efficiency, and deliver operational practices and systems. Your remit will cover everything from platform engineering and software development to service deployment, platform administration, and issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead improvements and efficiencies across legacy and modern systems, including automation, re-platforming, and system rewrites.
• Coordinate extended vendor support arrangements and project delivery partners.
• Manage large operational work packages, including planning, execution, release, and close phases.
• Facilitate meetings to improve performance, service, and product quality.
• Develop and maintain support strategies, operational procedures, and CI/CD approaches.
• Oversee integration, testing, and delivery of systems across on-premise and cloud platforms.
• Drive stakeholder engagement, translating requirements into technical designs.
• Analyse processes and implement strategies for optimised service delivery.
• Manage risk, issues, and dependencies across multiple projects.

Role requirements

• 10+ years of technical experience, including management of technical teams.
• Familiarity with software development, D365, Power Platform, and infrastructure principles.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams and engage vendors.
• Australian citizen, permanent resident, or visa allowing work in Australia.
