About the Role

L&T Technology Services is looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer (Payments) to join our team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will design and build large-scale backend systems, lead technical initiatives, and mentor engineers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring service reliability, scalability, and quality while actively contributing to coding and technical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Debug complex issues in distributed systems and ensure reliability.
• Lead peer reviews, maintain coding standards, and mentor junior engineers.
• Support and improve live services with strong ownership.
• Drive initiatives to enhance scalability, performance, and maintainability.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 11+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, AWS .
• Solid experience with distributed, high-volume systems.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra) .
• Hands-on with CI/CD (Jenkins) and caching technologies (Redis or similar ).
• Strong debugging and system troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in the payments domain is mandatory.
