Senior Java Backend Engineer – Payments

About the Role
L&T Technology Services is looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer (Payments) to join our team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will design and build large-scale backend systems, lead technical initiatives, and mentor engineers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring service reliability, scalability, and quality while actively contributing to coding and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.
- Debug complex issues in distributed systems and ensure reliability.
- Lead peer reviews, maintain coding standards, and mentor junior engineers.
- Support and improve live services with strong ownership.
- Drive initiatives to enhance scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of backend development experience.
- Strong expertise in Java 11+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, AWS.
- Solid experience with distributed, high-volume systems.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS (My SQL, Oracle) and No SQL databases (Dynamo DB, Mongo DB, Cassandra).
- Hands-on with CI/CD (Jenkins) and caching technologies (Redis or similar).
- Strong debugging and system troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in the payments domain is mandatory.
