Job Description

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer (GSR 7 / GSR 8), you will bring your 7 to 10 years of experience in Java Full Stack development to our dynamic team, focusing on building scalable and efficient solutions. Your role will center on microservices architecture, where you'll utilize your expertise in Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot to drive backend innovation. With your Angular knowledge, you'll enhance frontend integration, ensuring seamless user interfaces. Additionally, your experience with GCP cloud technologies will be vital for deploying and managing robust cloud-based applications. You will guide the development team in adopting best practices and cutting-edge technologies, playing a major role in the technical delivery of user stories planned in Sprints. Your leadership in Agile practices will be key, as you participate in and lead ceremonies such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Retrospectives, and Demos. Your contributions will also include supporting effective release planning and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, while assisting in coordinating production support incidents and managing prioritization. Your role is pivotal in driving technical excellence across our development efforts, with a focus on creating a holistic full-stack development approach that aligns with our strategic goals.


Qualifications and Skills

/ BTech in Computer Science with 7 to 10yrs of Experience in software development with Java/J2EE and Angular with knowledge of cloud platforms preferably GCP.

Essential :

  • 8+ years Software Engineering experience with current industry tooling
  • Deep technical skills : Hands-on coding, debugging knowledge in Java,J2EE,Spring boot microservices, sql databases with knowledge of cloud platforms preferably GCP.
  • Front end development - Experience in Angular would be a additional advantage
  • Strong team leadership : Mentorship, code reviews, support.
  • Proactive risk management : Identifying and mitigating technical risks.
  • Delivery focus : Meeting sprint goals, high-quality code.
  • Good command of Product Org Backlog management with associated tooling and best practices (Rally / Jira)
  • Positive team attitude : Collaboration, knowledge sharing & Effective communication and ability to work in a large diverse team.
  • Practical understanding / usage of version control systems (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD tools (Cloud Build, Tekton)
  • Desired :

  • Software engineering or development experience in a regulated, financial environment
  • Demonstrated evidence of application of Ford Credit Security & Control practices / Ford ISP standards
  • Understanding of current architecture standards and digital platform services strategy
  • Experience working with and managing Senior Stakeholder expectations and delivering against a strategic road map within a product organization.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring software Engineers in Product Org practices and tools
  • Experience managing Product Team metrics to improve performance and effectiveness.
  • Experience of Software Engineering Craftmanship techniques and best practices
  • Role Training Available:

    Internal and external training along with on-the-job training will be provided on the technologies and coding languages to be utilised where required. The applicant is expected to be prepared to self-learn along with other members of the team to enable the delivery of the backlog requirements.

    Additional Information

    NOTE: Banking and Compliance training including fair treatment of customers is mandatory for all FCE employees. Necessary training will be given to any successful candidates that require it.

    Because of headcount restrictions, this role is restricted to current FCE and FMC permanent employees only.

    This position is based in Chennai, and it is expected the successful candidate will be able to attend the Chennai Campus for typically 2 to 3 days a week (50% work from office ) and remain flexible on the days they are required to the attend the office according to business requirements.
