Role Overview

We’re hiring our Learning & Development leader for offshore teams supporting a complex underwriting function. This role is foundational. You will own how underwriters are trained, ramped, and kept current as the business scales across India and the Philippines.

This is not a generic L&D role. You’ll start by doing the job you’re training for , deeply understanding underwriting workflows, decision logic, and edge cases before designing scalable learning systems.


Experience & Background

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience preferred (quality over tenure)
  • Strong preference for underwriting, financial services, insurance, or risk operations
  • Proven experience training complex, judgment-heavy processes (not basic SOPs or linear workflows)
  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering training, not just managing vendors or programs


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete full underwriter training to build deep business and process context
  • Take over training from current operational staff and build a sustainable L&D model

Design and run:

  • New-hire onboarding for underwriters
  • Ongoing training for process changes, policy updates, and quality improvements
  • Build, populate, and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Create structured, high-quality training content (written, video, assessments)
  • Enable asynchronous learning to support flexible start dates and faster ramp-ups
  • Partner closely with underwriting leaders across India and the Philippines to ensure training stays aligned with real-world decisions

  • Reduced dependency on senior underwriters for training
  • Clear, version-controlled training content that scales across geographies
  • Ability to onboard new cohorts without bottlenecks
