Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Deltas Liaison Engineering team which provides 24x7 support for Deltas worldwide fleet of aircraft. Primarily focused on developing structural repairs for airframe damage as well as repairs for most aircraft systems.
- Perform technical assessment of aircraft damage levels and in-service non-conformity. And provide in-depth data analysis and engineering substantiations to support the structural repairs.
- Work in close collaboration with Delta Aircraft Maintenance teams addressing aircraft damage or non-conformity arising during aircraft operation, maintenance and repair under AOG, Live, AOS, SOS situations.
- Perform necessary analysis of repairs to show acceptability of design as well as comply with all aircraft certification requirements and all applicable FAA regulations.
- Develop standardized repairs based on historical repair actions to reduce the volume of new repairs needed to be developed by the Liaison Engineering department and provide Delta Aircraft Maintenance Technicians the ability to perform these repairs without waiting for engineering support.
- Develop specialized stress analysis and load analysis reports to support Deltas engineering departments in the development of damage limits for aircraft as well as fatigue and damage tolerance evaluations.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Support Liaison Engineering teams on a rotational basis (5 days a week) ensuring coverage and availability on any given day of the week
- Prepare and approve engineering authorizations, repair sketches, and instructions for maintenance teams.
- Ensure all repairs and modifications meet airworthiness standards and are properly documented. Maintain accurate records of engineering decisions and approvals for audit and regulatory compliance.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (aerospace or mechanical preferred) or comparable experience in an engineering related field.
- 8 - 12 years of experience in the field of Liaison Engineering (In-Service repairs) from Aircraft OEM or Airline industry
- Should have technical knowledge of aircraft, aircraft manuals and processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Good understanding on Aircraft structures and Familiarity of Aircraft Systems Mechanical & Electrical
- Interpret and apply OEM Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Service Bulletins (SB), and Airworthiness Directives (AD).
- Serve as a primary technical interface between the Delta engineering teams and maintenance organizations during heavy maintenance checks (C & D).
- Provide on-site engineering support during heavy maintenance checks for resolution of structural repair issues & modifications, compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to OEM guidelines. Some travel would be required within APAC regions from time to time
- Good understanding of different types of damages that arise out of aircraft operations and repair methodologies
- Good understanding on material properties Metallic and Composites
- Data mining skills and ability to read engineering 2D drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to develop FEA load models for various aircraft structural aspects would be an added advantage
- Understanding of CASS
- FAA/EASA Part 121 experience.
- Familiarity with OEM portals (Airbus World, Boeing Toolbox, etc)
- Good understanding of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance evaluations
- Develop FEA load models for various structural aspects of Delta aircraft.
