Mainframe Developer

  • To work on development in an application that operates on the z/os mainframe with a DB2 database backend.
  • Analyze existing system and create technical specifications as per business requirements.
  • Estimate, design and develop COBOL programs, JCL and DB2 stored procedures to implement the solution.
  • Work with DBA to integrate new database components and perform integration testing.
  • Analyze existing system and programming logic to provide more efficient machine operation.
  • Follow company software development processes and standards.
  • Keep up to date with new technology development and implementation.
  • Provide production support (e.g. critical business days, after hours, on call, etc.) between operations end users and the systems support team as well as conduct periodic application disaster recovery exercises.
