Define data pipelines, ETL logic, and schemas to ensure clean, reliable data
Own data governance, definitions, and metric consistency across teams
2. Business & Growth Analytics
Own all core business metrics:
Funnel metrics (traffic → conversion → AOV)
CAC, LTV, payback cohorts
Retention & repeat behavior
SKU-level and cohort-level performance
Build weekly and monthly business reviews used by founders and leadership
Deep-dive into:
What is driving growth vs noise

3. Decision Systems (Not Just Dashboards)
Translate data into clear recommendations, not just insights
Build decision dashboards for:
Performance marketing
Merchandising & inventory planning
New product launches
Marketplace strategy
Partner with teams to define what decisions data should influence and how often
4. Advanced Analytics & Experimentation
Set up experimentation frameworks:
A/B testing for pricing, creatives, bundles, UX

5. Team & Stakeholder Management
Act as the single owner of BI across the company
Work deeply with:
Growth & Marketing
Product & NPD
Supply Chain & Ops
Finance & Founders’ Office
Hire and mentor analysts as the function scales
What Success Looks Like (12–18 Months)
One trusted source of truth for all metrics
Leadership runs weekly reviews on BI dashboards
Clear visibility into unit economics by SKU, channel, and cohort
Faster, sharper decisions across growth, inventory, and launches
BI becomes a strategic lever, not a support function
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
6–10 years in Business Intelligence / Analytics
Strong exposure to high-growth D2C / consumer brands
Prior experience setting up BI from scratch (early-stage or scale-up)
Experience working closely with founders / leadership teams

SQL (must-have)
BI tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, etc.)
Data warehouses (BigQuery / Redshift / Snowflake preferred)
Comfortable integrating data from multiple tools and platforms
Strong understanding of metrics, not just tools
Business Mindset (Non-Negotiable)
Thinks like an operator, not a reporter
Understands consumer behavior, funnels, and unit economics
Able to push back and ask “what decision will this enable?”
Comfortable with ambiguity and building systems from zero
