Job Title: Senior Manager – Cloud Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager – Cloud Services to lead their cloud strategy, implementation, and operations across their Belgian and broader European operations. This role involves driving digital transformation initiatives, ensuring the scalability and security of their cloud infrastructure, and leading a high-performing cloud engineering team.

You will collaborate closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure alignment between cloud capabilities and business needs. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership and strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Strategy & Governance:
    Develop and execute the cloud strategy aligned with business objectives, including cloud adoption, cost optimization, risk management, and performance metrics.

  • Team Leadership:
    Lead, mentor, and grow a team of cloud architects, engineers, and DevOps professionals.

  • Cloud Architecture Oversight:
    Guide the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-availability cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Stakeholder Management:
    Act as the bridge between technical teams and senior leadership. Communicate cloud vision, strategy, risks, and benefits to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Compliance & Security:
    Ensure all cloud environments meet GDPR, ISO 27001, and other relevant compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Cost & Vendor Management:
    Oversee cloud budgets, manage vendor relationships, and implement cost optimization practices.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    Stay up to date with cloud trends and innovations. Promote best practices and continuous improvement in cloud processes and tools.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role focused on cloud services.

    • Proven track record in leading cloud transformation or migration projects.

    • Hands-on experience with public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

    • Experience in hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments is a plus.

    • Background in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD.

  • Certifications (preferred):

    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

    • Google Professional Cloud Architect

    • ITIL, TOGAF, or other IT governance frameworks

  • Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French are strong assets

Requirements
Master's degree in Business Engineering, Innovation, Strategy or other relevant degree. A minimum of 4 years of experience in strategy consulting, telecommunications, or a related industry. In-depth knowledge of the telecommunications sector, including technology trends and market dynamics. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills. Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling. Fluency in English Dutch and French.
