Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Scope of Position: A senior mechanical design engineer responsible for providing detailed mechanical designs of precision motion systems and custom precision tooling or fixturing. Responsible for all aspects of the design, build and debug of equipment including vendor management. Hands-on mechanical support for the installation, start-up and debug of fiber/connector manufacturing process equipment. This includes working with a multi-functional team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) Involves the application of mechanical principles encompassed in mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design used for the design, production, operation, and use of machinery of all types.Requirements: 10+ years of mechanical equipment design experience Proficient with SolidWorks Strong understanding of precision engineering principles Experience designing and building precision motion systems.
