Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for design review, execution, installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems, Diesel Generator (DG) systems, DG exhaust stacks, and HSD fuel systems . The role requires close coordination with electrical, civil, BMS, safety, and operations teams to ensure reliable and compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Systems Review HVAC designs for CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, VRF/VRV, ducting, piping, and insulation . Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems as per project specifications.
Ensure compliance with standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NBC . Optimize airflow, cooling efficiency, and energy performance (PUE considerations for data centers). DG & Exhaust Stack Systems Oversee installation and commissioning of Diesel Generator sets , silencers, and exhaust systems. Ensure proper design and erection of DG exhaust stacks considering height, dispersion, vibration, noise, and thermal expansion. Coordinate acoustic treatments and noise control measures to meet statutory norms.
Ensure compliance with CPCB, local pollution control board, and safety regulations . HSD Fuel Systems Supervise installation of HSD storage tanks, day tanks, fuel piping, pumps, leak detection systems, and filtration units . Ensure proper interlocks, safety systems, and redundancy.
Coordinate statutory approvals and safety audits related to fuel systems. Project Execution & Coordination Coordinate with civil, electrical, BMS, fire, and safety teams for integrated execution. Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring quality, timelines, and safety compliance.
Track project progress and support planning and billing teams with technical inputs. Testing, Commissioning & Handover Lead pre-commissioning, testing, and integrated system testing (IST) . Prepare and review commissioning checklists and test reports.
Support handover to operations teams with O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and training. Mandatory Skills & Technical Expertise
Strong experience in:
HVAC systems for large facilities or data centers
DG systems, exhaust stacks, and fuel handling
HSD storage, piping, and safety systems
Knowledge of standards: ASHRAE, NBC, CPCB, NFPA, ISO Experience in mission-critical environments (preferred) Tools & Systems
Auto CAD (review & coordination)
HVAC calculation tools (preferred)
MS Excel, MS Project
Familiarity with BMS integration for HVAC & DG systems Soft Skills
Strong coordination and leadership skills
Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
Clear communication with stakeholders
Ability to work under tight timelines and critical environments Education Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Relevant certifications in HVAC / Energy Management (preferred) Preferred Experience
Data Center / Tier III / Tier IV projects
High-capacity DG installations
Large commercial or industrial projects
