Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
" Install, configure, and administer Netezza appliances in enterprise environments.
" Perform monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting of Netezza systems.
" Manage user access, roles, and security policies.
" Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery of Netezza databases.
" Conduct patching, upgrades, and maintenance with minimal downtime.
" Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.
" Support incident, problem, and change management processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.
" Work closely with development, infrastructure, and application teams to support business needs.
" Provide 24x7 support on rotation basis and carry out weekend maintenance when required.

Required Skills & Experience
" 10+ years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on Netezza administration.
" Deep expertise in system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and query optimization.
" Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.
" Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX environments.
" Exposure to DB2 and Oracle databases is highly desirable.
" Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident/change/problem management).
" Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
" Flexibility to work in rotational shifts and weekends as required.

" Knowledge of scripting (Shell, Python, or Perl) for automation.
" Experience with cloud database environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
" Certification in Netezza, DB2, or Oracle would be a plus.
