Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer designs and troubleshoots high-level network infrastructures, triages complex issues, and contributes to team objectives creatively. This role ensures smooth operation of Alkami's growing network across cloud, corporate, and customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide network support for Alkami cloud, corporate, and customer environments
• Work directly with customers on networking products and solutions
• Manage assigned work via ticketing system, owning troubleshooting from start to resolution
• Use tools like log analysis and packet captures for root cause analysis
• Monitor infrastructure performance and plan upgrades, patching, and compliance tasks
• Install and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
• Document processes, create network diagrams, and maintain knowledge base articles
• Review IT maintenance tasks like backups and upgrades
• Mentor junior engineers and provide on-call support per company policy

Requirements

Experience & Education

• Minimum 5+ years hands-on network design, administration, configuration, and troubleshooting (or 3+ years with advanced degree)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent

Technical Skills

• Cisco CCNP or equivalent certification
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or higher
• 1-2 years network automation/programming experience
• Mastery of networking technologies (load balancers, firewalls, VPN)

Soft Skills

• Excellent customer support, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting complex network infrastructures
• Advanced AWS certifications
• 5+ years supporting AWS/Microsoft technologies
• 3-5 years Linux experience
