Job Overview

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, managing, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and security platforms. The role demands advanced expertise in network architecture, routing protocols, firewalls, network monitoring systems, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical abilities, hands-on experience with enterprise-grade networking solutions, and the capability to lead complex network initiatives while ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of the IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage advanced network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and wireless devices.

  • Configure and support network infrastructure for LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, and cloud-based network services.

  • Monitor network performance, conduct diagnostics, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.

  • Manage network security policies, access control, threat analysis, and vulnerability mitigation in alignment with cybersecurity standards.

  • Troubleshoot complex networking problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive and corrective measures.

  • Lead network upgrade projects, capacity planning, and infrastructure expansion initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application delivery, cloud adoption, and infrastructure integration.

  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, topology diagrams, SOPs, and incident reports.

  • Ensure compliance with IT governance, security standards, vendor recommendations, and change management procedures.

  • Evaluate new networking technologies and propose enhancements to improve scalability, reliability, and performance.

    • Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise networking roles with hands-on design and implementation exposure.

  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and Layer 2/3 network protocols.

    Technical Skills

  • Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking devices.

  • Strong command over routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP, and MPLS technologies.

  • Proficiency in firewall and security solutions such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point, or equivalent.

  • Hands-on experience with VPN technologies, IPsec tunnels, SSL VPN, NAT, load balancing, and QoS.

  • Familiarity with cloud networking for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including VPC, peering, and hybrid networks.

  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, Wireshark or similar.
