About the Opportunity

Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support a high‑security federal government environment in Darwin. This role is ideal for a seasoned infrastructure professional with strong expertise across enterprise networking, cybersecurity controls, and Cisco technologies, operating within a mission‑critical environment.

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, securing, and optimising complex WAN/LAN network environments, ensuring alignment with national cybersecurity standards and operational resilience requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise WAN/LAN network infrastructure
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, switches and wireless networks
• Deliver network security uplift and remediation
• Implement segmentation and segregation controls
• Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues
• Produce network architecture, as‑built and as‑configured documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders and system owners across multidisciplinary teams
• Ensure compliance with security, safety, environmental and quality standards

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong experience across:
  • MPLS, VPLS, SD‑WAN, VRFs, VLANs, VPNs
  • BGP, OSPF, ARP, DNS, DHCP
• Hands‑on experience with:
  • Cisco experience including Cisco FTD, routers, switches, ISE and DNAC
• Demonstrated experience in:
  • Network monitoring, reporting and optimisation
• Industry certifications: CCNA, CCNP or CCIE (or equivalent)
• High attention to detail with strong:
  • Technical documentation and communication skills
  • Network security architecture reviews
• Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments:
  • SCADA, DCS, PLC
• Conducting network security risk assessments
