Epic Games seeks a Senior Network Physics Programmer to join the Unreal Engine simulation team and enable large‑scale, distributed physics simulations.

Overview

Epic’s success is driven by passionate people who build award‑winning games and engine technology. The Senior Network Physics Programmer will work on Unreal‑powered projects, creating scalable and performant systems for distributed physics, networked simulations, and multi‑solver environments.

Responsibilities

  • Implement & maintain new systems within Unreal Engine, focusing on scalable and performant solutions:
    • Distributed rigid body simulation
    • Networked physics interactions
  • Maintain the existing physics engine and ensure seamless integration with Unreal Engine.
  • Collaborate with simulation teams to enable large‑scale simulations.
  • Stay current on research, techniques, graphics data, hardware, and related technologies.
  • Drive vision for multi‑solver, networked physics simulation in Unreal Engine.
  • Collaborate with game and project teams to create engaging content through simulation.

Qualifications

  • Strong C++ knowledge & excellent math skills.
  • Strong grasp of game networking principles.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in games.
  • Experience shipping multiplayer or massive‑multiplayer, networked games.
  • Experience developing and optimizing performance‑critical networked systems in large codebases.
  • Experience with dynamic gameplay systems (character interactions, physics simulation, etc.).

Location

Open to multiple locations across the US (including British Columbia & WA).

Pay

British Columbia Base Pay Range: $182,815—$268,128 CAD.
