Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced "Principal" Senior Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and delivery of diverse technology projects. This role will be central to driving a contact center transformation project, among other strategic initiatives at AT\&T. The ideal candidate will lead a multidisciplinary scrum team, ensuring technical excellence, architectural integrity, and seamless integration with internal and third-party systems such as Salesforce and ServiceNow. You will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions, while fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Contributions
- Lead the architecture, design, coding, testing, and deployment of diverse software applications spanning backend, frontend, and cloud platforms
- Guide the engineering team to adopt best practices in software development, quality assurance, automation, and security
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical strategies with organizational goals and ensure timely delivery of impactful software
- Promote DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code to streamline delivery and operations
- Mentor engineers to develop their skills and grow within a collaborative, agile environment
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, optimize system performance, and maintain compliance with security standards
- Lead technical documentation efforts and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years in technical leadership or lead engineer role
- Proven ability to design and deliver complex software solutions across multiple technology domains and platforms
- Experience working within Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Technical Skill
- Proficient in Python and backend development
- Experience with Azure App Services, or other cloud service
- Skilled in microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Familiar with integrating third-party APIs like ServiceNow and Salesforce
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and DevOps practice
- Desired not required: Experience with contact center technologies, Google CES, IVR, chat automation/ intelligent
- Desired not required: Experience implementing Generative AI/AI in technical solution
Non-Technical Skills
- Leadership and team mentorship abilities with experience managing or guiding engineering team
- Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging technical and non-technical audiences
- Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and problem-solving orientation
- Committed to continuous learning and fostering an agile, growth mindset culture
- Effective at managing multiple priorities and driving projects to successful completion
- Strong desire to grow professionally
- Intermediate-Advanced English fluency
This is a team leadership role and there is an expectation that you visit the AT&T office in Mexico City at least once per week.
Our Principal Software Engineer earns between $130,000 – $195,000 MXN gross monthly. Individual starting salary within this range will depend on experience, expertise, and education/training. For very exceptional candidates we may consider additional rewards.
