Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Process Engineer / Senior Process Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and maintenance of liquid cooling systems within our liquid cooling product manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in chilled water/glycol systems and a strong background in process engineering, particularly in high-reliability environments such as data centers, pharmaceuticals, or food processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize existing cooling and fluid handling processes to improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production and cooling workflows.
- Design, configure, and monitor process performance during manufacturing and operational phases.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, schematics, and conceptual layouts involving pumps, compressors, chillers, CDUs, sensors, and valves.
- Implement process improvements to reduce energy consumption, fluid waste, and operational costs.
- Monitor key process parameters (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow rate, glycol concentration) via BMS and ensure compliance with operational thresholds.
- Analyze process data to identify trends, predict failures, and support preventative maintenance strategies.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance plan for all process-related assets.
- Collaborate with EHS teams to develop SOPs for safety, leak mitigation, waste disposal, and fluid handling.
- Conduct Critical to Quality (CTQ) analyses and risk assessments for all process steps.
- Own the lifecycle of process equipment, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and servicing.
- Support commissioning and validation of new cooling systems and upgrades.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on chilled water/glycol systems.
- Proven experience in data center environments or similar high-reliability industries (e.g., pharmaceutical, food & beverage, distillery).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
- Proficiency in process control systems, instrumentation, and sensor technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with DMAIC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive process changes with data-driven insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with immersion or direct-to-chip liquid cooling technologies.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE guidelines for data center thermal management.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA platforms.
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience with CFD modeling or thermal simulation tools.
