Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to lead and scale end‑to‑end procurement operations for our FMCG food manufacturing business. This role is critical in driving strategic sourcing, cost optimization, supplier partnerships, and compliance, while ensuring uninterrupted supply across raw materials, packaging, and indirect spends.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in food manufacturing procurement, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to work cross‑functionally with Production, QA, Planning, and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Leadership

• Build, evaluate, and manage a robust vendor ecosystem for raw materials, packaging, and indirect categories
• Lead contract negotiations to secure optimal commercial terms, service levels, and risk mitigation
• Drive supplier performance through structured quality, cost, and delivery scorecards
• Develop long‑term supplier partnerships aligned with business growth

2. Operational Procurement Excellence

• Own end‑to‑end Purchase Order (PO) management aligned with production and inventory plans
• Ensure timely material availability by closely working with stores, planning, and manufacturing teams
• Partner with QA/QC to ensure material compliance before acceptance

3. Cost Optimization & Compliance

• Deliver sustained cost‑saving initiatives without compromising quality or food safety
• Ensure full compliance with FSSAI, ISO, internal SOPs, and audit requirements
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation, contracts, and audit‑ready records

4. Forecasting & Demand Alignment

• Collaborate with planning and production teams to forecast raw material and packaging requirements
• Align procurement with demand cycles, new launches, and promotional plans
• Prevent stockouts, excess inventory, and expiry risks

5. Digital Procurement & Process Improvement

• Drive adoption and optimization of ERP / procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Improve procurement cycle times, visibility, and reporting accuracy
• Establish and track KPIs for savings, supplier performance, and process efficiency

6. Risk & Inventory Management

• Monitor commodity trends, pricing volatility, and supply risks
• Develop contingency plans for critical materials and supply disruptions
• Ensure appropriate safety stock levels for high‑risk SKUs

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

• Cost savings vs. budgeted procurement spend
• On‑time procurement rate aligned with production schedules
• Supplier performance, quality, and compliance scores
• Procurement cycle time and process adherence
• Effectiveness of risk mitigation and continuity plans

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
• 6–8 years of procurement experience in FMCG / Food Manufacturing
• Strong expertise in vendor negotiations, sourcing strategy, and cost optimization
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
• Deep understanding of food safety regulations and sourcing standards
• Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑growing manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and execution skills
