Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Act as a business and product analyst for enterprise-level Data Governance initiatives, supporting tools and frameworks that enable metadata management, data quality, lineage, and data security.
- Collaborate with data governance leads, business SMEs, product managers, and engineering teams to capture, document, and manage detailed business and technical requirements.
- Lead stakeholder sessions to define and refine use cases across Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Quality, and Data Security.
- Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, process flows, and use cases for platforms such as Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, or similar governance tools.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define project scope, success metrics, KPIs, and delivery milestones.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and feature reviews to ensure timely delivery of Data Governance capabilities.
- Support vendor evaluation and proof-of-concept efforts related to new Data Governance tools and technologies.
- Maintain governance documentation including RACI charts, requirement specs, user stories, and system design artifacts.
- Ensure enterprise metadata catalogs and data stewardship models remain current and aligned with the evolving data architecture.
- Drive change management, user adoption, and training processes for governance solutions and platform enhancements.
- Support DevOps and Agile delivery practices to enable continuous delivery of governance features and improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree and 12 to 17 years of relevant business analysis experience in enterprise Data Governance platforms or programs.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong experience with Data Governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, Alation, or similar.
- In-depth understanding of data lifecycle, data quality, metadata management, data security, and lineage.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing Agile backlogs using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Proven ability to create business process diagrams, requirement documents, and stakeholder RACI matrices.
- Exceptional communication skills, including experience in executive-level reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage product features through PI planning and sprint delivery.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum.
- Passion for solving complex problems in the Data Governance domain.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with cloud data ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of data protection regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
- Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM), data stewardship workflows, and metadata repositories
- Exposure to low-code/no-code tools for test automation
- Experience with Jira Align and CI/CD/DevOps delivery models
- Hands-on knowledge of SQL and data profiling techniques
- Industry certifications such as DCAM or CDMP
