Senior Project Developer – Data Centers & Renewables
Location: Milan, Italy
We’re looking for an experienced Project Developer to lead the development of large-scale data center projects across Italy and Western Europe. This is a hands-on role, taking projects from site identification through to ready-to-build, with a particular focus on power strategy and grid connections.
Responsibilities:
Identify and secure sites for data center projects, either greenfield or through co-development with partners.Lead grid connection applications and work with utilities to secure capacity.Structure and negotiate PPAs and other power supply agreements to ensure projects are supported by long-term renewable energy.Manage permitting processes and ensure compliance with local and national regulations.Coordinate technical, legal, and financial inputs to build robust business cases and present to investment committees.Negotiate development agreements, EPC and O&M contracts where required.Work closely with internal engineering, procurement, and finance teams as well as external stakeholders including investors, network operators, and local authorities. Requirements:
Proven track record in project development within data centers, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure.Experience leading projects through early-stage development, permitting, grid connection and PPA negotiation.Strong commercial and financial understanding of development economics.Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple stakeholders.Fluent Italian and English; other European languages are a plus.Willingness to travel within Italy and occasionally across Europe.
