Roles & Responsibilities:
At Grinity a Solar Project Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing solar energy projects – from small-scale installations to large utility – scale solar farms. The role requires a blend of technical engineering expertise and project management skills, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The job role of a Solar Project Engineer involves the following duties:
· Conduct site assessments and analyze solar resource data to determine project visibility.
· Design solar power systems (including PV layout, electrical wiring, and integration with grid systems).
· Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and other equipment based on project specifications.
· Day-to-day management of assigned projects
· Understand the process of local authority submissions for various types of solar installation projects
· Quality checking of relevant designs
· Inspection of site progress and reporting
· Project scheduling
· Conducting site surveys and leading the site team in engineering matters
· Reporting to Project Head and fulfilling project duties
· Producing project plans and project milestones
· Liaising with stakeholders to align the expectation of the project.
· Coordination of permitting for projects.
· Assist in the development and engineering to develop a preliminary design budget.
· Support bid packages and procure materials and services as needed.
· Serve as point-of-contact for customers/clients during each project.
· Provide progress reports and other status updates to clients and management as required.
· Maintaining records and databases
· Oversee the installation process, working closely with contractors, suppliers, and on – site teams.
· Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
· Coordinate with local authorities for permits and regulatory approvals.
· Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality controls, and industry best practices.
· Monitor project progress and conduct performance tests and commissioning.
· Track project costs, manage budgets, and work on tendering and contract negotiations.
· Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, technical drawings, and compliance records.
· Provide technical expertise during installations, operation and maintenance phases.
· Resolve any design or operational issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Requirements & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
· Advanced certifications or training in solar energy systems is a plus.
· Proven experience in solar or renewable energy projects, including design and project management.
· Familiarity with EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) processes is often desired.
· Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar tools).
· Understanding of electrical systems, grid integration, and inverter technologies.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple project tasks simultaneously.
· Familiarity with Indian renewable energy policies, standards, and local permitting processes.
· Awareness of environmental and safety regulations relevant to solar installations.
· Excellent Communication skills for liaising with cross-functional teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
· Proven ability to work collaboratively in both office and field environments.
· The role may require periodic travel to project sites across different regions.
· Staying updated with the latest solar technology trends, government incentives, and regulatory changes is essential.
· Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues that may project timelines or performance.
Experience:
· Minimum 4-5 years in solar
