We are seeking a part‑time Senior Project Manager to oversee and conduct complex studies. The Senior PM will manage clinical research staff and vendors to maintain efficient clinical activity management, coordinate multiple projects or programs across sponsors, and serve as the primary point of contact for both the client and the project team. The role requires strong leadership within project teams and within the PM team.
Responsibilities
- Support proposals and business development as needed to secure new business, including reviewing and providing input to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and presenting at bid defence meetings as requested.
- Work on complex, high‑profile programs or protocols based on dollar value, project scope, sponsor, and therapeutic area.
- Act as the subject‑matter expert (SME) in a therapeutic area or indication.
- Provide overall coordination and management of clinical trials from start‑up to close‑out within contractual timelines.
- Manage project finances, including contract adherence, budget management, and regular budget reviews with the client.
- Provide and/or deliver study‑specific training for clinical research staff.
- Delegate appropriate study work to the Project Management Associate or other team members when applicable.
- Determine and evaluate appropriate resourcing needs for all functional areas.
- Communicate resourcing needs to functional area management.
- Generate a comprehensive study‑specific Project Plan and ensure underlying functional plans are included.
- Establish and manage processes to track and analyze critical project information and metrics, including timeline management, projections, forecasts, and trend analyses.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the AC study or clinical team and the client.
- Escalate significant issues to appropriate AC leadership.
- Follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in departmental SOP review and revisions, process initiatives, and candidate interview processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable GCPs through training, processes, and early issue identification and correction.
- Collaborate with other functional areas to identify and evaluate fundamental project issues, interpret data, make sound business decisions, and ensure timely solutions.
- Develop and implement risk‑management strategies and contingency plans for clinical deliverables.
- Maintain a flexible, innovative, and proactive approach to addressing issues.
- Lead or participate in client and cross‑functional meetings.
- Provide oversight and mentoring for less experienced PMs and Project Management Associates.
- Oversee overall project performance, including all deliverables, study finances, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; an advanced degree preferred.
- PMP certification or membership in other project management or clinical research organisations (e.g., ACRP, ICR, SCRA).
- At least 2 years of project management experience and 7 years of clinical research experience; full‑service contract research organisation experience preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work well in a high‑paced team environment and independently, with flexibility in work hours and willingness to travel.
- Fluency in English.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a current passport or identity card as applicable.
